Payment Methods
1. By on-line bank transfer
We will advise you by email / telephone of the amount due and bank account transfer details. On receipt of funds to our account, your booking will be confirmed. We will issue a confirmation letter over email confirming with all booking details. We will require your bank details also to refund the deposit however this can be provided immediately after your stay.
2. By credit card on-line
We will advise you of the amount due via a Paypal invoice over email.
Payment is made by accessing the secure Paypal Link via the email invoice and making the credit card payment for the required amount in a similar manner to any other secure on-line purchase.
On receipt of your funds by Paypal, your booking will be confirmed. We will issue a confirmation letter over email confirming all booking details.
There is no requirement to have a Paypal account. Your deposit will also be refunded back to your credit card.
Unfortunately we do have to pass on some of the credit card processing charge if this method of payment is chosen. This surcharge is 3% on the prices quoted (e.g. £7.50 for a £250 booking).
Terms and Conditions - Deposits, confirmations and cancellations
Would guests kindly note the following payment and booking information. The following are generally standard conditions across private holiday lodges to ensure the booking and payment process works smoothly. We will always take special circumstances into account where we can.
1. Bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 25% booking deposit or £50, whichever is the greater.
2. Payment of the full balance plus damage deposit must be received at least two weeks before the stay commences.
3. Booking deposits are refundable in full only if the cancellation is made more than 6 weeks prior to the booking. If the booking is cancelled or amended with less than 6 weeks notice, booking deposits are refundable only where the lodge is fully re-let.
4. A refundable deposit of £100 to cover breakages or damage is payable with the due balance two weeks before the stay commences. This depost is refundable, minus any charges for breakages, damage or excessive cleaning, after the lodge has been checked at the end of each stay. It's quite rare for deductions to be necessary and we're sensible in our approach to this. Any evidence of smoking in the lodge will result in full loss of this deposit to cover cleaning charges.
5. Consumables such as tea, coffee, cooking oil, tinfoil, sandwich bags etc.. are provded for all guests convenience, as are DVDs and CDs. Stocks are regularly checked and supplies are generous. Please don't accidentally take lodge stocks home with you on departure - these are for future guests use. Missing DVDs and CDs will be charged for at replacement prices of £15 per CD and £20 per DVD.
6. A fair usage policy applies to electricity useage and only abnormally high usage would incur an "at-cost" charge. We have not yet encountered a need to apply this but understandably have to reserve the right to do so.
7. Deposit refunds are processed within a few days of departure, once the lodge has been cleaned and inventory checked.
Terms and Conditions - General
We want all our guests to enjoy themselves. To ensure the Lodge is maintained to the highest standards we ask that guests note the following key points :
Fiddlers Bay is strictly non-smoking
Pets and other animals are not allowed inside the Lodge.
